The root cause of all our spiritual problems lies in our not knowing God as a Loving Father and a Sovereign God. Under the new covenant, God promises to write His laws in our hearts. But they discovered that they could not keep God's laws perfectly. Under the old covenant, the Israelites were given commandments to obey. God has always required obedience from man. Take Jesus' words in Matthew 12:36, 37 for example:Įvery careless (idle) word that men shall speak, they shall render account for it in the day of judgement. Taking God’s Word seriouslyĪ bad habit that many believers have is that of taking God's Word lightly. How did Jesus walk? Was it in victory some of the time, or most of the time or all the time? We know the answer. The absolute necessity of faithġ John 2:6 says, The one who says he abides in Christ ought himself to walk in the same manner as he walked". If we are overcome by any sin, the root cause is pride somewhere or the other. If we keep the letter of the law but deny its spirit, we have a form of godliness without its power.Ī humble person is thankful to God and to man for the smallest things. God loves the disciples of Jesus as much as He loves Jesus. God gives you commandments because He loves you. God wants to help you to live in victory at all times. The sum and substance of all that we have been saying thus far is that all of our salvation is by grace and through faith.įor by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God." (Ephesians 2:8). He calls Himself the God of the widows, orphans and strangers. He is the God of the weak and the helpless. But the Bible says that God helps those who are unable to help themselves. The world says that God helps those who help themselves. No servant can serve two masters for either he will hate the one, and love the other, or else he will hold to one. That's why Jesus said that there were only two masters seeking for our devotion - God and Mammon. In all these things we overwhelmingly conque. Thanks be to God Who always leads us in His triumph in Christ" (2 Corinthians 2:14). This is clearly taught in a number of Scriptures. God's will for our lives is constant victory.
